Hello all,

I went to the ortho yesterday and he replaced my upper wire. I

thoght I would go to the OS today to get the splint taken out and I

was told one more week or so. I am so disappointed. I really wanted

this thing out of my mouth. Oh well. I guess I am still healing.

However, the ortho didn't replace the hooks so I can't use

rubberbands anymore. Yeah! But it seems like my upper teeth and

lower teeth are not meeting. I guess ortho should fix that, huh?

Hope all is well. Gotta go.

Just wanted a shoulder to cry on.

Back when I was doing this stuff, my surgeon had promised me six

weeks in the splint. I went for the six-week appointment, all full of

expectations.

" Come back next week, " I was told.

" But you promised six weeks, " I wailed.

Evil grin: " Yes, but I lie. "

I thought about it and decided I'd truly rather he'd leave it in six

months more than I needed it, than take it out one day too early.

He took good care of me.

Thanks Cammie,

You are right. At least I can chew now (or at least try) I am only 5 weeks

post op.

But I am also kind of disappointed because he said I may need another operation

because he had to open me up pretty much in my upper. He originally said he

would do it in the office, but now he wants to see me next week and I may need

to go to the hospital for yet another surgery. Bummer. Pray for me.

I am also getting a really nasty taste coming from the splint. It is gross. I

guess it is all part of that " smell " thing when I get it taken out, huh? Food

particles, etc. (not to get too graphic)

Gotta go. Lost is on.
