Guest guest
Hi, I had my surgery 5 weeks ago (upper/lower/genio) to correct a crossbite. I've been used to surping my food down for the past few weeks, but today I tried to use a spoon without slurping. In other words, I tried to close my mouth tightly around the spoon so that when i remove the spoon, the food will be in my mouth. However, when I tried that, it didn't seem to work. My mouth couldn't close around the spoon, and I had to resort to slurping. It seems as if my upper mouth just doesn't want to stretch down to the spoon completely. Does anyone else have this problem? Guest guest
It might help to use a baby spoon... One of those little metal ones coated with plastic or rubber. You can get them in the grocery store here. C. > > Hi, > > I had my surgery 5 weeks ago (upper/lower/genio) to correct a > crossbite. Guest guest
Oh thanks, but that's not the problem.. I just want to be normal. I want to be able to go to a nice restaurant and drink soup without slurping. Just wondering if this is normal, and if I should expect it to get better... If I'm at home, or at a loud asian restaurant, I don't care if I'm slurping or not. > > > > Hi, > > > > I had my surgery 5 weeks ago (upper/lower/genio) to correct a > > crossbite. Guest guest
I think it's normal... Five weeks is not a long time out of surgery. Heck, I still had my splint wired in...
