Hi, went to OD today for a loooooong appt, (in the middle of a

teaching day, i was stressed, trying to get back to school

quickly!). He took the bands off my back upper and lower 3 teeth

and used a diamond drill to polish between the teeth to create

space. he then put regular brackets on and in went the new wires.

I am still tied in steel on the back brackets, but for the first

time since surgery, my wire is held in most places by the little

elastic rings. i also am elastic band free. i have to tell you , i

feel i am missing something. i feel free and easy (no bad jokes

here, please), am eating more frequently and feel relieved the job

of taking out and putting in elastics is over. i have that familiar

serious ache after a major OD appt, OUCH. I like it though, i

know " stuff is happening " when it hurts. I realize that i will be

in braces for a few months longer, but heck, what is a few more

months at this point. this is all to correct a midline issue. we;ll

see how it goes!
