Guest guest
Sheesh! My computer/server just ate a long post to you, Livia-- I'm gonna wait a bit and see if it burps it up in a post. Short answer: Nope, I don't think it takes us longer to heal, unless we have some other health problems associated with just having lived in our bodies for a while. Or nutrition, etc. Osteoporosis, etc. Tell your ortho and your surgeon what your deadline is, and why it's important to you. I found them very kind in working with me -- I think they liked me because I was one of their older patients (OK. Gloat, Miz !) and because I tried scrupulously to do everything they told me, to a tee. (And because I " bribed " them and their staff with whatever I could think of -- mainly homemade, relatively healthy, breads, muffins and cookies. Occasional sinful brownies, and one memorable bottle of champagne my surgeon was supposed to drink when he'd told me the ortho had done everything I needed. The champagne didn't work. Sigh.)
