Does anyone with medical knowledge know of the implications of a mass on the

liver and dilitation of the vessels. I had an ultrasound and now am

supposed to have a CT scan to " get a closer look. " But so far I have unable

to have the scan because they will not give the contrast dye when I am

wheezing from asthma. Are there are alternatives to the scan to find out

what's going on? I'm just wondering if I need to consider this as serious.

I've been sitting on this knowledge for three months, and figure I need to

take some steps soon to get it diagnosed.

Thanks in advance,

All I can tell you is, get this checked out asap. I wouldn't worry overly

much, just take action and get to the bottom of the trouble. My ultrasound

showed up some sort of " mass " or something or other...dilation of the vessels

also rings a bell....among other things they couldn't quite put their finger

one. So, the next step is the CT scan. That wasn't conclusive enough for

them either, so the next logical step was the liver biopsy. Turned out to

be what most of us who were/are MO have. Steatosis, or in more layman terms,

" degenerative fatty liver. " Even though I had lost the most of my weight, I

still had the fatty liver. They told me that had I not had the WLS, I would

have been in a lot worse shape. The WLS at the very least, arrested the

problem, it would not get worse. My enzymes were in the stratosphere,

besides the fact that I also had hepatitis due to cytomegalovirus. I worried

myself sick over the ominous implications of cancer, unspoken, but definitely

going around in my head...but, I realize after the fact, it just doesn't pay

to worry before you have something to worry about..it is a very unpleasant

emotion, especially when it goes into panic mode. So...don't wait, get it

figured out. Try not to worry, chances are good that it is just something

benign.
