Re: post ope 7 days. Should I try to speak?

i couldn't imagine not speaking for seven days. how have you done that? did

your surgeon tell you not to speak?

My surgeon shut weired my teeth with elastic for 7 days. Whlie in

that period, I could talk cause, my teeth shut fdown with elastic.

My surgeon shut weired my teeth with elastic for 7 days. Whlie in

that period, I could talk cause, my teeth shut fdown with elastic.

It's probably a good idea to try talking it will help losen the

muscles. I was able to talk a couple hours after my surgery. I had

just upper and was banded.

You can do that, just be prepared that it will be pretty tiring! I

tried to minimize talking for about 6 weeks. I used my whiteboard

extensively in the hospital and at home, and otherwise asked my

husband to speak for me on the telephone.

that to exercise your jaw you should try to speak right away, even

before you have been unwired. Speaking promotes healing and

Once again, I think the best thing is to ask your doc.

Mine was adamant that I should not talk, even though (or maybe
