Stuffy and/or runny nose = gustatory rhinitis (no joking).

Most likely because some surgeries ([horizontal] transection,

vertical gastrectomy, DS, BPD, and, depending on how they are done,

VBG and AGB) disturb at least one of the limbs of the vagus nerve in

the stomach, leaving it bruised and tender. Then filling with food

stimulates the nerve, resulting in mucous discharge elsewhere in

[throughout?] the body--nasal passages included.

You have a plethera of information !!! I was wondering how both types of

surgery could have the gustatory rhinitis?

Whatever traumatizes one or more branches of the vagus nerve will do

it: transection, DS, etc.
