As a caregiver to my husband, Tom who is now pretty much bed bound, I needed to hear your words to . Often I get caught up in the daily care and frustration of trying to 'fix' things and find solutions, forgetting how Tom feels and all that he has lost in the last 3 years as this disease has progressed. He used to tell me he was " totally self sufficient " and proved it by doing his own laundry. He was a well-liked Sales Manager for a large can manufacturer for 32 years. He knew when it was time to retire earlier than he had expected to and when, after hitting a neighbor's fence during a u-turn, time to stop driving. I feel blessed to have found this group and to know that I can get help and advise or just listened to and not feel so isolated. Tenacity DOES win ! Sandy B. Every now and then, I get the desire to put into words, the feelings that I have felt. was the person who motivated me to write this. Yes, this group is a blessing.
