There are a couple of different forms but basically the serotonin in the brain is misfiring and not meeting up with the neurotransmitters. An antidepressant or combination of antidepressants usually help. I know for me, food was the way I dealt with the depression for a long time. Drinking and smoking are other ways to deal with it. The serotonin is a type of painkiller I think and there is something about trying to make the pain go away through eating, drinking or smoking. Hope this helps. I currently take Wellbutrin for just this problem. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs.
