Guest guest Posted April 1, 2003 Report Share Posted April 1, 2003 Just wanted to mention as Chair of the Colo State Grievance Board, and I only mention that to say I have 12 years of experience at looking at various kinds of complaints about professionals, NO ONE has to put up with a 1. bad doc who is inept 2. a doc who is arrogant 3. a doc who fails to follow through 4. a doc who makes serious errors 5. a doc who won't listen 6. a doc who will not educate him or herself about a patient's special condition 7. a doc who practices outside his or her skill area 8. a doc who does not return calls in a timely manner 9. a doc who gets a kickback from insurance cos by withholding services from the patient 10. a doc who does not have hospital privileges 11 a doc who will not make adequate arrangements to see seriously ill people right away 12. a doc who keeps a staff of rude or disrespectful people 13. a doc who minimizes or patronizes the patient's complaints 13. a doc who makes sexual advances 14. A doc who does not follow usual medical protocol 15. a doc who makes up " facts " because he or she does not know and does not want to admit it. 16. a doc who has an abrasive personality, is uncooperative, treats the patient disrespectfully. 17. a doc who holds him or herself out as an expert, but is not an expert 18. a doc who will not make time to assist a patient in serious need 19. a doc who gives far more tine to billing patients than to helping a patient gain insurance reimbursement 20. a doc who enacts sub-standard practices in any way. Any person who calls themselves physician has taken the Hippocratic Oath, that amongst other things causes the physician to promise: ... " ...I will prescribe regimen for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone. To please no one, will I prescribe a deadly drug nor give advice which may cause his death. If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my art, respected by all men and in all times; but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot.
