Guest guest
Whoa, and slooooow down. Everybody is frightened when first hearing of all this. But it's not as big a deal as your mind is making it right now. Yes. A lot of folks have had these procedures. They aren't exactly the ones I had, but a lot of folks have. I dunno, from your description, whether your ortho thinks you should first do the SARPE (surgically assisted rapid palate expansion) or whether you should have the palate expansion in the process of a LeFort I (or II or III) plus lower jaw moving back. I am more used to reading about the gap between the front teeth with the SARPE. If that happens, it will be dramatic, but those teeth will move back together quickly. It may well be an ouch! situation, but you can do that. (Look at the photos from LadyBelkus on group 2 for an example.) For some folks, those two front teeth are almost back together by the time they get home from the ortho office. As for cost -- nope. I don't. But insurance may well cover it. c > > Hey. Guest guest
Hello, Yes, I had that. Let's see. My front teeth look a lot worse than they did before the surgery. Mu right front sticks out and I have a big space between my teeth. But the OS says not to worry. The orthodontist will fix that. The OS had to cut my wire during surgery to open up my pallet and do whatever else he had to do. So, I don't have a wire on the top front anymore. But, that just means the ortho will have to fix it. The OS says it will go back to normal in no time.
