Guest guest
OMG, I thought I was the only one who got belly button infections. I've never actually seen the doctor for it. My solution has been just to fill my belly button with an OTC triple antibodic cream (at night) slap a bandaid on it (to keep the cream in) and go to bed. Clean out the next morning in the shower. By the way you should never never stick anything in your belly button, even q-tips to clean out. This will only make the infection worse. Let me know if you get a tummy tuck out of this. Guest guest
Judy, Preop WLS I often got yeast infections in my belly button. When I had my surgery I lost my bb and for 3 years had none. When I had my lower body lift my PS gave me a new one. It was cute as could be but got yucky and smelly. What he did was treat it with silver nitrate. It turned my skin black and as I recall actually burned off the infection. Unfortunately that bb closed up on me but I got a new one 4 months later when I had my hernia repaired. So I'm thinking maybe just to ask your pcp about silver nitrate? It beats the heck out of seeing a surgeon right now. Worth a shot. Sue in Las Vegas (who is getting her new, cute bb pierced in May!) infected belly button Hello People, A few weeks ago attention was brought to my belly button because of an awful, painful, disgusting, gross belly button in my tummy. Guest guest
Judy,Since my goal is to get RECONSTRUCTIVE surgery for butt rashes and I do get the occasional rash in the belly button (it doesn't get much air...as it sort of collapses in on itsefl)I would say that is definitely a good reason to approach the subject. Guest guest
My belly button never got infected. However, I had yeast infections behind my knees and on my stomach near the groin just before my wls. It was treated with the antifungal stuff. As far as plastic surgery goes, this certainly can't hurt you any. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs.
