Guest guest
Jayne, I am able to answer the question about hair loss as I seem to have the extreme of what can happen to your hair. I had major surgery many times before and each time I lost some of my once thick straight hair. So to prepare myself for this surgery, I cut my long permed black hair very short, and decided to let it grow in with whatever natural grey it now had. I had surgery 4/28/03 and continued to loose hair the past 9 months later. Currently, my hair is very thin on the top in the front, the sides are not too affected and neither is the back. I wear it short & natural around home or out casual shopping and I really do not mind it being thin. My husband was shocked when I cut my hair off [by myself, a few nights] before surgery. He was so flabergasted at what I had done, that he did take me to buy a wig a few hours after I woke him up to show him what I had done during the wee hours of the morning [he was sort of peeved that I had just had a perm & color a few weeks before, supposedly to prepare for the surgery.] I really like the wig and for the first time in my life I have a different color that has highlights. The wig is fun to wear when I dress up to go out with my husband, for church, or when I do my professional Beauty Consultant business. Most of the time I wear it natural and keep it short...and I really like the freedom of not having to fuss with my hair for hours to look right. I have lost about 100#, but have been on so many plateaus that I never know when I will drop a few pounds. I am pleased with the surgery and my progress so far. I have not been exercising like I should due to previous trauma, but the past week I have attempted the treadmill again and find I can now do this activity for 20 minutes [so maybe my excercise will kick in another weight loss spurt.] So there you have the facts, if you need any more information, I will be glad to discuss this with you. Lynda PS: to the young lady who's husband was injured in the war, we are praying for his speedy recovery and that his body will heal without permanent damage. God Bless he and you and your family during this difficult time. Thank you for your husband's service to his people; our soldiers are so brave and we appreciate their sacrifices of time, energy, being away from their families and puting their lives in harms way for their country.
