Dead Tooth?

Hi there,

It's been a while since I've been on this board - I'm about 5 months

post-op. I had surgery at the end of March on my upper jaw for an

open bite and it was broken into 3 pieces and I have screws

underneath each side of my nose. In the last month or two I have

noticed that the tooth directly under one of the screws has changed

color. It's no longer opaque, but sort of translucent with a

brownish tinge and really stands out from the rest - I am so freaked

out and wondered if anyone has had a similar experience. I am so

afraid that the tooth is dead or will continue to get browner and

browner - does anyone know if it will return to the color it was

before or why this has happened? I am going to see my ortho

tomorrow, but he is sometimes flippant with my questions, so I

thought I'd address the board. If anyone has any comments, I'd

really appreciate it - thanks!
