Guest guest
Okay, okay, I did it, I posted 's pic/composite of an old mang just to prove that I once did more than lean on the exercise machines and oogle the ladies on the spinner bikes over there LOL! Of course since that time, I pruned into a bent old man. Honestly? I was talking with friend today who had cardio health history similar to mine and I am not sure that I will ever feel again like I felt that morning on the way out the door to ride a bike. That was about a year post and I felt like I could leap tall buildings in a single bound, be faster than a speeding bullet,,,,,but not as powerful as a locomotive. (In case you do not remember, that was the intro to the old Superman TV series.) I just hate it when I date myself like that over and over! But, today, it is different. Just able to get back to the gym again is a motivating thing. In spite of orders from the Dr. about a healing sternum, I have been doing very very light weights again and cardio stuff and lots and lots of protein. I feel the difference and the return of some muscle tone, but still there is the tendency to run out of air by the end of the day. Guess I will just have to be more patient. I have a friend at the office who always asks me how I am today. If I deviate from other than wonderful and start to whine about this or that, he always retorts " you did wake up on the right side of the dirt this morning didn't you? " That tends to focus me. His philosophy of the here and now is really descriptive of where I am these days. Things do change! Dan Slone Surgery 5/2/2000
