I use several whey protein powders, all much less expensive than Atkins. I do

about 6 shakes a day (minimum), and carry a shaker cup and powder with me all

the time.

I use . . .

Nectar by Syntrax - Fuzzy Navel has no aspartame; Strawberry Kiwi, Apple

Ecstacy, Very Cherry Berry, and Caribbean Cooler have aspartame. These are

juicy kind of shakes, not milky.

Proplete Gold by LaBrada - I love the Pineapple Vanilla, and Mixed Berry Blast.

These are milky-type shakes, with bits of dried fruit in 'em. Don't blend them.

Pure Whey STack by Champion Nutrition - Theis is the one I use the most.

Chocolate (tastes like fudgesicle), Cocoa-Moccachino (mild latte flavor), Banana

Scream (more and later candy flavor), Vanilla, Strawberry . . . all are good.

Good value, inexpensive.

I also like Whey Fruity by Molecular Nutrition (use a spoon to mix this one)

once in a while (free samples at their website), Weider Whey Protein Isolate

(these last 2 brands are juicy-type drinks). Other milky-type shakes I use are

SciFit . . . most flavors are good. Inexpensive. Shakes up easily with cup.

You can get samples of all of these (except Whey Fruity) for small cost at

www.vitalady.com, so that you can try before you spend a buncha money. She's

longterm postie (9+ years), and only carries products that are good for us.

Hope this helps . . .

<<Subject: protein powder

I have started using the Atkins shakes instead of breakfast to get

my protein in and they are good but expensive! Everything else I've

tried tastes like chalk or is just plain gross. Anyone have any

other recommendations. I'm 5 weeks out and still having trouble

getting ENOUGH calories in. What a switch, huh.

Thanks!
