Sheila,

I find myself wanting to find ways to tell other obese folks about this

surgery. Everyone who knew me " before " knows what I had done. I try to work

it into a conversation when I can. I never want to hurt another person by

assuming that he/she is unhappy with his/her body size...so I am very careful

when and how I bring it up. It hurts me to see someone in the position that

I was in just a year or so ago. Kim o

Yep, I do the same thing. I don't bring it up as much as I used to, but I

size up every situation different, and decide if it is worth bringing up or

not.

It is a common feeling with most people who have had wls. Imagine how it

must feel to our surgeons? They too, must feel the urge to tell every MO

person they see about the benefit of wls.

And you don't know if they have just been turned down because of

physical problems, insurance, lack of $, whatever. You don't know if

they have already had it and this is half of what they were, etc.

physical problems, insurance, lack of $, whatever. You don't know if

they have already had it and this is half of what they were, etc.
