Guest guest
This is not the normal course of traumatic hair loss. This is prolly a balding pattern that Lynda would have experienced whether she had surgery or not. DO NOT expect that this will happen to you . . . I've met dozens of post-ops, and currently participate in at least half a dozen online groups. The only people I've seen/heard from who did this were already thinning and/or losing hair *before* surgery. It's not even typical of nutritional deficiency losses. Both nutrition related and traumatic hair losses are fairly even, all over the head. Universal thinning. << Subject: Hair Loss, etc. Jayne, I am able to answer the question about hair loss as I seem to have the extreme of what can happen to your hair. I had major surgery many times before and each time I lost some of my once thick straight hair. So to prepare myself for this surgery, I cut my long permed black hair very short, and decided to let it grow in with whatever natural grey it now had. I had surgery 4/28/03 and continued to loose hair the past 9 months later. Currently, my hair is very thin on the top in the front, the sides are not too affected and neither is the back. I wear it short & natural around home or out casual shopping and I really do not mind it being thin. <buncha stuff snipped> So there you have the facts, if you need any more information, I will be glad to discuss this with you.
