have had that problem since i had surgery, the PCP told me it was because of

I called my doc and he said the same thing, he suggested that I switch

facial porducts and try it out for a couple weeks, and if that didn't

work to go see a dermatologist. we'll see...I have been using Clinique

porducts for years and they are just not cutting it. Not that I ever

had perfect skin, but my hubby even asked me if I was using my stuff

and I told him I was they just weren't working. I ordered some ACNE

scrub and astringent and some soap from avon, so i will see if that

works...sure does make my face feel good.

Hi every one. I am doing much better. Some swelling going down.

Monday will make the begining of my 3rd week. I am splint and band

free and will be seeing the OS on Monday. Actually I see him every

Monday. I was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems

with there skin. My face is peeling like i have had a sun burn. But

it is also very oily? I have never had this problem. I tried some

lotion but it only seems to make it worse. Anyone have any

sugestions.

Thanks

Lots of people have it, Jen. I did not, but it also comes from the

post-op reaction to steroids, anesthesia and an altered diet. The

good news is that it goes away in a few weeks. And some people have

had good results with cosmetic masques, to deal with it. Sorry, but I

don't remember brand names. You might try the vitamin E for that,

too, although it will be even oilier. It tends to be helpful with

scars (not that you should expect any -- my orthopedic surgeon

suggested it to deal with the aftermath of carpal tunnel surgery).

My face felt very very tight and irritated adn then it peeled. My

face was shiny and oily and stiff. I tried to clean it gently with

cotton, but the results werent so great. My guess is that before the

surgery theyre scrubbing our skin with some harsh, germ killing

cleanser.

My lips and the skin around my mouth also peeled, then and cracked

and bled and peeled after that. There was no helping it. The

surgeon suggested vaseline. I was using vaseline on my lips, but it

never helped. Happily, I have no scars or marks left from that. Not

even where the cracks were.

My skin did the same thing. For breaking out- I washed my face with

soap containing saliclisyic(sp?) acid and used an astringent with it

too. Neutrogena makes one and so does clean and clear. It works great!

I wouldn't put the astringent on your dry skin though.

don't worry it will all go away.
