One-piece retainer?

Hi everyone,

I wondered if anyone had a one-piece retainer after their braces

were removed? I had surgery for an open bite and was supposed to

have my braces removed last month, but my bite started opening up

again, so my ortho put my back on rubberbands. My bite is now

closed, but seems unstable. Once the braces are removed, I'm

worried that it will open up again because it seems like my muscles

still remember the old position. My ortho mentioned I would be

getting two separate top and bottom retainers once I was done with

everything, but I was thinking how great a one-piece retainer would

be because it would hold my bite and my teeth in place

simultaneously - anyone ever have this or hear of it?

Thanks again!
