--Hey, I know what you're feeling. I got unwired last

Thursday at 8:45 after 6 weeks (lower jaw setback on July 15th) and I

had been counting down the days for weeks. I had every calendar

marked off counting down the days. Thoughts of my first meal were

also all consuming! My first meal was my favorite mac and cheese

recipe. I was tightly banded (about 25 rubber bands in my mouth) and

my OS replaced those with two guiding rubber bands and one across the

front of my teeth which I take off to eat. No, I didn't need to

drink anything (but I sure did after the fact to celebrate !!!) but I

just had rubber bands removed not wires. So far have eaten mac and

cheese, omelettes, chili, mexican food, fish and the insides of

sandwiches minus the bread. I am still ecstatic about just being

able to open my mouth. First thing I did was brush my teeth for

about 10 minutes. When my OS took off the bands and said open your

mouth as wide as you can, I thought that I was opening my mouth about

3-4 inches and in reality it was only about 1 cm. Now, about 5 days

later I can open my mouth about 1 - 1 1/2 inches.

Anyway, I know exactly how you feel. If you have any questions, let

me know.
