Hi Dammit and Ray,

It was so good to hear from the two of you and even better to hear

that all is going well.

I too, like Ray, was 4 months post-op on Oct 2nd. All is well with

me too!!! I'm wearing a total of 5 rubber bands, 24/7 and my OD

seems to think my braces will be off in Jan '05. I do have some

residual tingling in my lower left chin, which seems to be getting

better. It's weird . . . but when I drink any thing that's

cold . . . I feel it more in the chin area. Last week I was getting

these kind of shooting pains there. God willing, those nerves are

still " waking up " ! The feeling in my upper jaw is coming back slowly

and the swelling inside my mouth is virtually gone. Have either of

you noticed a more sensitive taste to salt?

I'm still early on in my recovery, so I know there are still lots of

changes in store for me.

I must say, as nervous as I was prior to surgery, at 52 years old, I

would have the surgery all over again. I was and am blessed to have

a great OS, OD, the support of this board, and Cammie, and my

June surgery buddies.

Take care and best wishes to the two of you and to my June " buddies "

and to all of you that are post and pre op.

With best regards,

Dale
