I have 2 questions, but first.........

I saw my surgeon, got the pre-op tests, got my psychological and

was approved by my insurance company. On Wednesday morning, I was given

a 1/28 surgery date. Needless to say, there was unprecidented whooping

and hollering around here.

Then yesterday, I got a call that my doctor now refuses to do

surgery at the hospital I was approved for, (don't know why) and the

insurance will not pay for anything if the surgery is done at the

hospital that is across the street. I went from a date a week away to

basically starting over, all in 24 hours.

I have 2 options...to switch surgeons to one who operates at an " in

network " hospital...OR....appeal to the insurance company to allow me to

go to the other hospital.

Question 1. Have any of you ever been approved for the surgery, but

denied because of the hospital? If so, how long did it take to appeal

the matter, and did you succeed.

Question 2. Do any of you know of a good surgeon in the central

Florida area? I live in Palm Coast, but would go to ville,

Orlando, Daytona, etc........Anywhere where the surgeon is good and I

can use this operation approval before it is outdated and I have to

start over with everything.
