I came across the following in my Dr. Weil weekly online wellness bulletin

and thought it may be of interest to many on these lists, maybe esp those

" over 55's " that Ceep's been tracking..............

" Have you ever tried the exercise program called " Callanetics " before? The

exercises consist of deep muscle toning using your own body as resistance,

and, therefore, do not require lifting weights. Not only is it a terrific

strengthening and toning program, it also improves your figure dramatically.

I would describe the exercises as part calesthenics, part Pilates, part

yoga--but they are very unique. The program was developed by a woman with

scoliosis and lots of knee and back damage, so the exercises are designed to

be safe and gentle to do whether you are ten or eighty years old. I recommend

book or the Beginning Callanetics video tape very cheaply. "
