Second week post-op

In my second week of post-op from open RNY w/chole. Still losing

quickly. Getting somewhat bored of diet looking for options. Have

had some diet soda. Sipped the soda after it was opened for probably

15 minutes or so. I enjoy soda, but don't think I want to deal with

the bloated feeling like that to often. I know I've got to increase

my protien intake and am looking forward later this week to getting

to the gym for my post-op walking. No nausea so far and my system

tells me when I'm low on water. All in all, I'm feeling good,

there's room for improvement, but I still have that drive. Thanks to

everone here for the encouragement. In case anyone cares, I posted a

small collage in the pictures folder (Ray W). My next pictures will

be at 100 days post op, hoping for -80 lbs by that time (May 5).

For those of you contemplating the surgery, read, research, and

attend the support groups. But most importantly, ASK THAT QUESTION,

whatever it is, if you don't ask it you may never find the answer to

it. As for me, even though I'm just 14 days post, I would do it

again.

Best of Luck,

-Ray

This a a good question. Those who are 100% ready walk right up to the door.

I ran I was so READY! I wanted it more than anything. Its normal to be

nervous. Don't let your family leave you second guessing your self. Have

faith in your decision and research.

I ask my husband not to be mad @ me or God if something should happen. I

told my mother I loved her and ask my sister not to let the kids forget me.

Kissed they all bye and left. I only cried one tear on the way to the

hospital.

Joe knew this would help me be with him longer and give us both what we both

wanted. I had a miscarriage in June. It was the happiest day to tell him to

I was finally pregnant. Only to lose it a week later. The part that hurt the

most was seeing him hurt. I knew then this was the right thing to do, not

only for me but for everyone who loved me.

Hello Ray.....

Ok, I've been thinking about asking a question but keep avoiding it. Your

email gave me the " go ahead " .

I am having WLS in 10 days, on the 19th. It has taken 13 months to get to

this point. I have researched it, and feel I have the BEST surgeon. Not

once

have I second guessed my decision. However, at this late date, my family

is

seemingly just getting with the program and several are saying they don't

feel

good about this. I'm a bit taken back by their comments and am a little

nervous now, for the first time since I started this thing. Is it NORMAL

to be

a bit apprehensive this close to surgery, or have all of you that have had

surgery, walked right into the hospital ready to go? Please talk to me,

anyone

who can help.

Thanks....

I was raring to go!!!!!! But everyone is different and it's fairly common

to get nervous the closer you get. You'll do fine.
