Well this will be my first post, however I've read who knows how many

since my surgery (Nov. 18th) to try to keep me sane, knowing that

others are experiencing or have experienced the same kind of thing I'm

going through. I had an upper and lower jaw surgery with an expansion

on the top, and so far recovery hasn't been that bad at all (the first

4 days were the worst). Swelling has subsided, but I still am pretty

numb in the face, namely the chin, lips, and the area right below my

eyes. I seem to be really numb in the tongue, it is tingling quite

often, but I don't seem to have much feeling in it, which makes it

very dificult to manuever food around in order to chew soft food

properly. So far I haven't really had much success with scrambled

eggs or other soft foods. I was wondering if anyone else has

experienced this numbness in the tongue, and when it typically

returns. I have these awful nightmares about having perfect jaws but

a non-working tongue.

Thanks,

Drew
