Guest guest
Please understand that your first few years of living Post-Op with the gastric bypass is the time when you hopefully will learn how to work with the new tool created from the surgery. The surgical procedure, that each of us have undergone, requires a " LIFELONG " commitment ot it, for success. You have to learn to listen to your body and NOT your brain....know what you want out of life and then focus on it and you will have it. I can assure you, that even today, going on 24 years now, I listen to my body and respond accordingly. It took me over 16 years for my mind's image of myself to fully visualize my true NEW self...instead of the Pre-Op physical size. Once I was capable mentally of a true visualization of myself, I then had my excess abdominal skin removed. Mind you for 15 years, I saw my reflection in the mirror every day, and I wore clothes off of the rack. So, if anyone is really serious about considering the Gastric Bypass or any surgery for losing weight, please consider MOST IMPORTANT, that success only comes from a LIFETIME commitment, not just from the first several months of weight loss...that part of Post-Op is " just the beginning " . I would also again state, that I would do it again in a " New York Minute " !
