I'm doing great today! So great, that I haven't visited this group

in about as much time--it's been at least four years. I used to

check this site everyday to see what people were saying about their

surgery. I was so nervous about my own. Then, the day came and I

had the surgery. I went in for an overbite correction.

The first few days after the surgery were the worst. I remember

when I woke up from the surgery, my throat hurt from the tube that

they use during the surgery. I felt like I couldn't breathe. My

face was extremely swollen. Nothing made it feel better but the ice-

packs they gave me. After two to three weeks I tried mashed solid

foods. I really haven't looked back, since.

From time to time, I still feel a little bit of numbness on the left

side of my chin--even after all of this time. I don't know what

brings it on...but it's nothing major. I don't even notice it

most

of the time. The benefits outweigh the costs.

I highly recommend this surgery. My heart goes out to all of you

who are making the decision to go forward with it.
