The orthodontist recommended that I have 4 bicuspids

pulled and have lower jaw advancement. He said it

would be around 4mm. The surgeon agreed, therefore I

signed up for the whole ordeal. I did have second and

third opinion prior but still elected to go with the

surgery option as they made it sound like it was the

absolute best way to go. The other orthos said that if

I wanted perfection this surgery was an option but

both said they would personally not do it. But always

wanting the best i opted for it. And yes my main

motivation is for cosmetic but i was told it would

improve my bite as well. Problem occured when ortho

was unable to close lower spaces. This left me with

not so much an overjet now , but with 2 gaps in teeth.

He said my only options are now to either surgically

have spaces closed at the same time as lower jaw

surgery or to not have surgery and have bridges put in

to fill space. Believe me I am so confused right now.

one day I decide to trust them and go ahead with the

surgery then other times I am not sure. I have it

scheduled for Nov 8th and just trying to gather as

much information as possible. Thanks
