Guest guest
nathalie, you said at 11 weeks you are still wearing bands. what does your doc give as reason for this? is he trying to correct something or to stabalize where you are now. eric > > > Well, I finally have a diagnosis for the excrutiating pain that I > > > have been suffering through for the last 3 weeks. Guest guest
No, these are elastics that aren't very tight from the orthodontist, not from the surgeon. These elastics are used to close the bite. I believe that it's common to wear these after your surgery when you get your first appointment again with the ortho (I've read many people getting these at their ortho's after surgery). I have my next appointment in 4 days so then I'll here whether I should keep wearing them or not. They don't really bother me. Guest guest
Hi and Nathalie, I too am still wearing elastics, many, at 10 weeks. Mine are to pull my bite together. i can remember way back when, when wearing them did more work, more quickly, but now that i am BONE, it is a very slow process, much like ortho work on adults. My teeth still do not touch on the right side. at last visit to OS he said they are 80% on their way to being closed, compared to how open the bite was on that side after surgery. Marsha - I am soooooo sorry to hear about your pain. i have been on this site only a limited amount of time as it is BACK TO SCHOOL time and that has been my priority. I really really really hope that this minor surgery does it for you. I know it could be a little discouraging to think you'd be at one stage of the recovery and something gets in the way. You have been very positive through this whole phase of your life. Keep up the great attitude. > > > > Well, I finally have a diagnosis for the excrutiating pain that > I > > > > have been suffering through for the last 3 weeks.
