Guest guest
I had upper/lower/genio on Oct. 5, 2004, and upon a drop-in visit to my dentist, he commented on how my mid-line was off. After bringing it to the attention of my ortho, he told me today that it is indeed off by 3.7 mm. He told me that I had the choice to keep it as is, or to go in for a revision surgery. He said that mistakes do happen. They already had to move my upper and lower jaw to one side 7 mm, but with cases as complicated as mine, it's easy for things to be missed. Essentially, I'd have to have everything done over again and start from square one, but the surgery wouldn't be as long or as involved. I broke the news to my boss this morning as my job has been SO wonderful about all of this, and I am close to tears. I'm willing to go through this again because I want everything to be perfect, but I'm frustrated, sad, and hungry for real food. Is there anyone else who has had more than one surgery in a short amount of time? I will be getting more details on Tuesday as I still have a lot of unanswered questions.
