Guest guest
Every doctor is different in what is allowed. My doctor says no carbs until you have lost 75% of excess weight. That means protein only. I have not had veggies, fruits, or any kind of carbs in 6 months. The only carbs I have added (per doctors orders) is milk. That was after three months, when my doctor (and his staff) researched enough and found out that calcium supplements were not enough. If you want to know how many carbs you should eat, I would speak to your doctor or nutritionist. Good Luck Mindi 277/175/125?? Guest guest
thanks for the info. I love Grape Nuts and I eat about 1/2 a serving about 1-2 times a week instead of my usual soft scrambled eggs (I really need to get some more variety!). I was hoping that it wasn't all that bad the little amount (about 1/4 cup) that I ate so I'll keep on thinking of it as good! Thanks for the compliment! I'm still having a hard time with those.....but I just say thanks now and move on You have any photos to share? T. Guest guest
Mindi, Congratulations!!! I'm curious as to what you have been eating if you don't have any carbs. I continue to struggle with carbs more than anything. I just need some examples of what you're having that doesn't contain carbs. I would appreciate any examples you could offer. Take care and congrats on your success. Beth LAP RNY 07/18/2003 339/239/150 Boston, MA > Every doctor is different in what is allowed. Guest guest
In adding some variety to breakfast, which is the hardest for me to do, I sometimes just have a peeled and sliced apple with some block cheese. If not that, it's an egg or oatmeal with whey protien powder and wheat germ for added fiber and protien. I always use the old fashion oats as these don't get soggy. I'll be working on some really low carb cookies today, coconut maccaroons! Yummy! RE: Carbs thanks for the info. Guest guest
I have noticed that if I dont eat my low calorie toast in the morning that I dont tend to crave carbs. Which is a good thing to calm down the carb craving, also the sweet carbs. At least its a start from where I was a few days ago. I do know that im not letting myself to regain the weight or even 20 lbs to sabotage this surgery. Thanks for listening.
