Guest guest
Hi , As promised I'm here with an update on my gum graft. I had it done today and it wasn't all that bad. It only took about and hour. I really didn't have much pain during the procedure and I only have very mild discomfort and swelling now. I have to wear a surgical stent on the roof of my mouth for a week; it's pretty annoying, but I'm getting by. Also, eating is a little challenging because you have to try to avoid chewing on the grafted teeth, which is not as easy as it sounds. I'm sure those teeth will get kind of nasty after not brushing them for a month, so I have that to look forward to as well. Right now my bottom gums look pretty much mangled. So I'll be excited when they start healing and I get a better idea of how the graft is going to look. All in all it wasn't too bad. The only rough part was when she cut the graft tissue from the roof of my mouth. I was totally numb, but I could still feel the pressure of her cutting the tissue. Rather disturbing! -
