Guest guest
Hello, I am just starting treatment, and getting braces on in a few weeks. I went to my ortho today, and he explained the treatment options to me. The treatment that he recommends and I'm favouring is to shave down a little bit of the sides of my teeth on the top to get more room to push my two front teeth in line with the rest of the teeth. My question is: has anyone here had that done, does it cause more sensitivity, and does it create more risk for cavities, etc? If anyone could tell me about their experiences with this, that would be great. Thanks,

Guest guest
I had it done twice, best I remember. Had no problems with it at all. It gives the ortho a little bit more room to apply the braces, when there isn't much between the teeth. I had no sensitivity, no increased risk for cavities. And even better, I didn't have to have the spacers, at least not right at first (it's another set of things about why I did eventually get one)! I've heard it called " stripping, " but my guy calls it " slenderizing. " He did it pretty much all around my mouth, if I'm remembering right.
