Guest guest
I didn't, but I have had friends who did. Some folks have had them pulled down -- this required a procedure (generally done by the oral surgeon) to make an incision, uncover the teeth and cement a button on them. Then a little chain was used to attach the buttons to the archwire (best I remember) and by a process of shortening the chain, the canines were pulled down and then positioned the regular way, using brackets. (The ones who had this procedure swore that it sounds worse than it was, even one person who had to have the teeth uncovered surgically twice.) If, however, the teeth were " ankylosed " or so firmly attached to the bone so that they can't be moved, they were removed, and replaced eventually with a denture of some sort. Good luck.
