Guest guest
. An up and down day. surgeon seems very happy with the work and the progress. a friend came too and she saw the X rays and finally understood the scale of this thing (I have had upper/lower/genio) I am finding the oral hygiene difficult as lack of sensation makes it difficult for me to judge anything. Good news is that i can move off Ensure and clear liquids only and i can baby brush my teeth. I am going to do whatever i can to avoid using enure as anything other than a quick solution. It just depresses me. I Have found that slightly thicker things are easier to control. So today i had totally liquified and strained warm chowder and it was great. luckily i have figured out how to use a cup tho' the washer dryer are on a lot. Bad news - i have had an allergic reaction to something, possibly as harmless as theVaseline. so my lips are sore and swollen beyond. and i am finding my pain meds (ibuprofen) not up tro the job. So I ad a bit of a meltdown this afternoon. I was (conscioulsly - I bulked a bit) overweight before surgery but i have gone from 193 to 185 in a week and clearly can't lose anything like that. I am really going to put a lot of work into nutrition now that i can use the blender so as to avoid Ensure etc. My swelling has plateaued and the ruises are spectacular. LIke i said, the first day you look no different is a bad one. sleeping is very tricky as I am unused to having my head elevated. Like you - 1 or 2 hours at best. Good luck with your OS and let me know. Mine was really busy today and a little matter of fact which upset me. i am not used to being so emotional....!
