Guest guest
Well in one week ill be starting my regiment of new foods,I have a list from my nutritionist but thought maybe I could get some help from this group on just what some of these things mean. I'm aloud to have soft pasta (no rice)..so do I have it just plain? I'm aloud to have eggs or egg substitutes...But can I have the egg cooked or scrambled ?? I'm aloud to have fish...I'm assuming baked??? I'm aloud to have low fat meats...im assuming they mean like shaved cold cuts? Since im aloud meats can I have turkey in chili if its crumbled up good? Just thought with all the knowledge this group has I could get some answers to these questions? Allan Lap Rny 12-15-03 312 / 270 / --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Wow Allan, what a loss in a short time! WTG!! It's hard to know exactly what they mean with some of these foods, but I'm going to assume the soft pasta (which I'm not allowed to eat) is with sauce of some sort. I do use Butter Buds on some foods like that. My nutritionist/surgeon said scrambled eggs were hard for some people, but if I fry in a non-stick pan using Pam, an over easy egg I have no problems. I dumped twice from the scrambled. But again, someone on here said they were fine with the scrambled. Fish, my doctor said baked. Low-fat meats, I was told basically to just stay away from the red meats. But at my 6 week check they told me to wait on chicken & turkey. Too late, I'd been eating it since week 3. The best I've found is at Costco in the deli section, pre-cooked grilled chicken. I package it into small amounts and take one from the freezer when needed. It's incredibly tender, and easy for me. I've cooked regular chicken, and it seems so much tougher. Once again, we all react differently to foods. I've just had to try and if something doesn't seem to go down well, I'll wait awhile to try it again.
