Guest guest
and others with the red spots, This is Barbara Woodford again. I wrote back in the Spring about Chuck's strange and various spots. He went to a dermatologist at Mayo, who determined they were not from bugs or drugs. She prescribed Allegra, scent-less and chemical-less soaps and cleaning agents, a salve and as few showers as possible. Chuck was supposed to go back to her but didn't want to make the trip to Rochester for just that and it seemed better, so he laid off a bit. Things have come back in full force. He has groups of little spots, not unlike bites, that itch like crazy. Then he has quarter sized red spots that may do all sorts of things except heal. Occasionally he has the BB under the skin things that don't do much of anything and disappear. Lately, Chuck went to another local dermatologist, who said it looked like eczema, which is no help at all, because something internal causes that, but what? Already had the most likely culprits tested. So now he's back on the regimen again, with slightly different salves that seem to help some. Like he says, " My arm trembles to shake the house, my blood pressure puddles every time I stand up, I have diarrhea all day and night long. Why do I have to itch too? " Barb in Illinois (I will write about our octreotide injection experiences soon)
