Lips after surgery

Hi everyone,

I have just started treatment with braces, and I will be going

through lower jaw surgery for a moderate underbite and my jaw is

also shifted to the right a little. I have noticed that the middle

of my upper lip does not line up with the midline of my top teeth,

and my upper and lower lips are just crooked in different directions

whether smiling or not. When I try to line up my midlines by

shifting my jaw to the left, my lips are still crooked. Does/Did

anybody have this problem before/after the surgery, and is this

common? I am worried that after the surgery, my lips will still be

crooked even though my bite is perfectly aligned.

Thank you,
