Hi -my name is EJ and I will be 10 years post op this September

16th, I had an open RNY with a 40 " common channel, I was revised and

transected in 95 due to SLD from taking Toradol after many plastics.

I am 5'8 " and weigh 130 lbs. I have been stable for a long long time

and have no problem maintaining my weight. However, I stay out of

the junk unless I want to put on a few pounds. I do at least 150

grams of whey protein shakes each and every day-I use Stack and

ProScore-chocolate of course-mixed equally. The foods that I eat are

high lean proteins. When I do eat carbs, I eat small amounts of

fruit and veg's. I rarely eat pasta, rice or potatoes. I would

rather fill up on protein. I love beans but the gas kills me! I eat

about 4-6 very small meals a day. I have managed to keep my pouch

small by eating small amounts and doing my shakes. If I get hungry

and start craving sugar, I do a protein bar, I carry them in my puse,

my briefcase, keep them in my beside table, at my desk, my car, etc.

Even on vacation I do my shakes every day and always bring a supply

of protein bars with me. Remember this is only a tool not a cure and

you need to stay compliant to control the weight. I don't think of

it as a diet, it is a way of life. One of my motto's is " Nothing

tastes as good as being thin and healthy feels " , I live by that!

Also, by eating this way, keeps my dump-o-meter working. My husband

does the weight watchers diet and it works for him and I pretty much

eat the same way-I am 51 and he is 53-we want to stay trim and

healthy for many many years to come.

My advice to you is get back on track with the protein shakes and

foods, stop the junk and move that body!

Good luck
