Guest guest
Hi Casey - Did you have lower? I had upper, so my tongue isn't numb at all, but the roof of my mouth sure is! Geez, scratched cornea too?? That's no fun at all! When it rains it pours I guess! At least you're finding things to laugh about, even though laughing is tough! Thanks for the congrats on the finals. It sure is nice to not have to go to school for a while! Hang in there!

Guest guest
Congrats on a successful surgery, Casey. It will be interesting to mark our progress since we had surgery on the same day, though you had much more done. My tongue was never numb, but my nose, cheeks, and upper lip are still numb today. Amazingly enough my lower jaw and chin is fine. Those were the two spots that the surgeon said were at risk for permanent numbness. My bruising is working it's way down my chest and is a lovely yellow. I do have some stubborn purple ones on my face, two on each side of my lower lip and one under my left eye, that seem to be hanging on. My swelling is almost completely gone and I can actually see my cheekbones again. I thought the swelling would persist for two or three weeks so this is good news. I know what you mean about laughing. I have to shoo my boyfriend away because it hurts to move my face too much and laugh. I especially can't look at the photo of me on day 2. Oh boy, hilarious. I look like a cross between a gorilla and Nixon. I'll post them soon for everyone else's enjoyment. Take care, Maddie > > Hi all- > > I'm one week one day post op and things and I am beginning to see > the light of day.
