Guest guest
Can't help you with your cravings, as I have a few strange ones myself. There isn't enough spinach grown on the planet, as far as I am concerned, and I NEVER ate spinach pre-op except in sour cream spinach dip! I could eat zucchini til the cows come home, and I am constantly grossing out my daughter with my bad winter squash habit (nuking an acorn or other squash in the microwave with sf pancake syrup & cinnamon - eaten right out of the shell). > BTW, what's up with FF mayo? I bought some and it was disgusting. Well of course it was! Nature never intended this food to see the light of day. And if you look at the labels, FF mayo has WAY more carbs & sugar than regular mayo. If you're looking to strike a happy medium on the fat, use the Lite version, but the FF is nasty and not that great a bargain for us anyway. I generally feel the same about most FF cheeses too. Acky. I'd rather have half as much of the real stuff. ~~ Lyn G

Guest guest
Spinach. Iron or calcium (oxalates). Which do you need? I had to swear almost off due to the kidney stones. Remember green leafies, nuts, seeds & legume are primary source of calcium, not dairy. So, what can you not have when you are a ks victim? Every had Kraft Free? Axle grease. Some woodworking friends told us to use mayo on wood to put some shine back into it. Well, that's be sacrilege with the real thing, so I used my last Kraft Free to coat this huge table & chairs I had. Good use for it. But not enough fat in it to help the wood, either. Waste of money & elbow grease. LOL! Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Not having any labs to go by, I could need either, or both. I keep planning to show up at the next blood drive on base, just so I can get the iron test and they can tell me I'm too low to donate (or they could offer me a miracle and say YEAH, your iron is fine!) I would be willing to venture that I don't get enough iron as a rule. I need to go back through the archives and see what the recommended good stuff is. If soybeans are one of the legumes that contain calcium, I should be good -- soy is my main " meat. " I hope I'm not a candidate for kidney stones. I've never known anyone on either side of my family who had them, ever. In fact I never heard of them until I was an adult and someone I worked with had them. So maybe I have good genes in that direction and will dodge that bullet. Meantime, I have a nice bowl of spinach for lunch today, to accompany my TVP sloppy joe leftover from last night. Tonight's menu -- Dirty Rice made with Gimme Lean sausage -- it's Mardi Gras, gotta Laissez les bon temps rouller! (For the francophonetically challenged, that's lay-say lay bon tone ru-lay! ~~ Lyn G

Guest guest
One of my employee's husbands, Mr. 8 Cups of Coffee, had kidney stone today. Sigh. A kidney sounds, well, sorta like something that happens to " other people " until it happens to you. LOL! And then, it's VERY personal and all that mindless chatter (brown liquids, calcium carbonate, blah, blah, blah) starts to make sense. LOL! Thanks, Vitalady, Inc.
