Lou,

I only had the panniculectomy done and had two drains. I wore a

very loose dress (one of my wonderful tent dresses) home. I was actually

able to safety pin the drain tubes to the seam of the dress. I

personally could not wear undies or pants for a few days, but that's me.

I have always been a little weird.

Lou-

Full tummy Panniculectomy (anchor stitch/fleur di lei stitch, 160 staples

breastbone to pubic bone, hip to hip) done Feb 14, so I'm just over 2 weeks

out.

Ditto on what Lori Owen said. Wore very loose long summer shift/tent dress

(from heavier days, so it was very full/loose) out of hospital. Two drains.

Pinned each drain to center of binder up by breast (they came out of each

hip). Pinned them in center by breast bone (on top to binder) so when I

" rolled over " in bed, they didn't get pulled or squished. Center was safest

for me.

Wore no panties, but never really did (okay, I'm a freak and like my

freedom).

Wore " grampa " muscle t-shirts (Hanes) UNDER binder for comfort. The softest

ones they make. Made a BIG difference with this against my skin before

binder. Also, one grampa t-shirt on top of binder.

(So, one UNDER binder with drain tubes running up my body and out my arm

holes on each side. Then wrapped binder around me. Then pinned drains to

center top outside of binder (at breastbone). Then ANOTHER grampa muscle

soft t-shirt on top to cover tubes and protect them from catching on

anything.)

Also, graduated to sports bra but kept the 2 t-shirt thing going as well.

I still have drains and still am doing this as we speak. Again, my surgery

was Feb 14. Also, this was a cake-walk surgery!
