Guest guest
Hey all! Just thought I'd check in at the end of my first week with status. I saw my OS again today and got the loose rubber bands, I have about 1cm opening with the bands on, and a lot more (didn't measure) without them -- he seemed really impressed with how far I could open -- I should have asked if that was normal. I've been given the go-ahead to remove my bands to eat, and eat anything that doesn't require chewing. So, for dinner tonight I had a grilled cheese sandwich, chopped into teeny pieces and soaked in tomato soup. YUM! He says I'm healing wonderfully, but I will be on a strict no chew diet for the first 4 weeks anyways. No biggie though, I'm just happy I can eat rather than drink my food again. Some of my teeth hurt since seeing the OS. The bands in the back were moved to different teeth and the ones that used to be banded are the ones that are sore.. Is that normal? I'm also developing a sore on the back of my throat. I'm doing my best to rinse and gargle, and brush now that I can. I can't really see what it looks like though.. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to help it heal up? And, I'm off to work tomorrow. Going to start back this week while I'm still technically on leave and work short days to kinda work my way into full days again. I've gotten a lot of my energy back, so hopefully I can manage a few short days at work before the long holiday weekend. Thanks to everyone here! I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found this forum!! ~Jen
