question about orthodontic cost

i asked this question on the other site as well. my ortho wanted to

close up some spaces for my surgery, but i had braces years ago and

the spaces don't bother me. so, i'm just getting braces to get the

surgery so they can do the wiring. he quoted me at 1200.00 for

braces just for surgery. does that seem expensive? what do you all
