Guest guest
Wanted to let everyone know that I'm back from surgery. Wow! I can really see a difference already. My surgeon, Vivi Bakholdt, was very through and I feel she did a great job. She told me that she did wind up doing a full abdominplasty, tightening the under lying muscles as well. I did not have my original scar removed but she did center it so it looks more natural. It surprized me that she said my stiches from open WLS were still there almost 10 years later. I had always thought they dissolved. They do things a little differently here, in Denmark. I came home this morning after having two drains removed. I only had the surgery, yesterday morning. I slept on and off most of yesterday and today but in between, I've been getting around pretty well. I go back on the 3rd of March to have my stiches removed. I was sent home with a girdle like wrap for the abdomin, to only be taken off for showers. Yes, I was allowed to shower today and I did. I was told I would not be given Moraphine but I did get shots of it. I was concerned about my blood pressure dropping. It did but not nearly as much as before. I was given pain meds to take home. I only got 2 days worth. As for pain, yes, it hurts. My back hurts as much as the incisions. I think this is from being bent over and only laying on my back. For me though, I don't think it's nearly as bad as open RNY. Dawn
