Extraction gaps... will they ever close?

Quick question to those of you who had the great fortune of having

teeth pulled as part of your orthodontic treatment: How long do

these suckers generally take to close?

I had four teeth pulled (two wisdom, and two premolars) seven months

ago, and the extraction gaps are still not closed. Has anybody had

the surgery done while still having gaps? Just curious...
