Guest guest
Hi all- I'm one week one day post op and things and I am beginning to see the light of day. The swelling is going down (according to all who have seen me since day one) and the bruises have faded to a light yellow. I am still on liquid only even though the surgeon said I could try " runny " things with no chewing. My tongue to still completely numb so I have a hard time swallowing. Are any of you having that? Is that normal? I also scratched my cornea while I was waking up from surgery, so I have a patch on one eye. So I tell everybody, I don't have pain from the surgery, just one-eyed and numb tongued. , so the speech isn't great. I try, but without lip sounds everything is kinda mumbled. And laughing is no picnic. I am a giggler and crack up at just about everything, so my lips aren't moving in the right directions and I can't control the drool. It is quite a sight! Glad to hear Maddie and are doing so well. Congrats on finishing your exams. I'm sure that's a weight lifted. Now you can concentrate on getting well Thanks for everyones posts, I look forward to hearing everyone elses suggestions. You guys are great!
