Hi, .

Although I won't be going in for sugery until January 2005, I did get a

surgery estimate (two surgeons) a couple of years ago. Now that I'm done

fighting for insurance it may have gone up, but at that time it was around

$6,500 for the two surgeons performing a segmental LeFort I osteotomy (for

palate expansion).

I have yet to check on the cost of hospital stay and anesthesiologist, etc.

I hope this helps.

Sue

Does anyone recall the surgeon's fee for their BSSO and/or LeForte I

osteotomy?

Thanks!

The surgeon's cost is not the only thing you need to take in

account. By the time you add in all the extras, like all the xrays,

molds, splint, my estimated bill from my surgeon part(I have not had

the surgery yet) is about $15,000.00 for Lefort 1 and genio. Once

again that does not include the anesthesiologist or the hospital

which is also a substantial amount.

I just asked my surgeon the give me an itemized layout of the fees

he would be charging. Of course I didn't understand all the lingo on

the statement, so I just called and asked questions about anything

that I was not sure about.

Ask lots of questions.

Good point, ! I'm estimating that the whole prodedure (not counting

ortho costs) will be about the price of a really nice SUV ;-)
