Yes, I believe potassium is one of those things that should only be

supplemented under a doctor's care due to possible toxicity.

headaches, potassium depletion.......but last time I suggested supplementing

with potassium I got some shall we say " strong " e-mails about how I am not a

doc and how dare I suggest or recommend any supplement with

potassium...........so I won't do it this time :) P.

I'm not a doctor either, but I get a headache from even " hearing " about

fasting.

First of all, Carol, thank you for your post regarding " Protein Only " . I

couldn't agree more.

said in her post that " several have moved past the head trip part of this

.. . . " From what I've read in the majority of posts to the list, most have not

moved past some kind of head trip. Which is understandable. How can anyone

having gone through the physical and emotional turmoil of life as a MO person

and subsequent surgery not end dealing with some sort of head game?

For those who are having only protein for a time, that's your choice, for me it

only adds fire to my many ongoing head games.

I suspect if there are WLS patients who have truly moved beyond the head games

they are not posting here.

Thank you for your kind thoughts....but please don't assume I've come

all this way not to have already figured this out. I'm drinking protein

shakes for two days. That's all. It's not more complicated than that.

There are several of us here who have moved past the head trip part of

this in the manner that you describe. But please know that I

appreciate what you're trying to do. Peace, G in Sacramento

restricting the diet to protein only is a very dangerous idea for

people with

long term complusive eating problems.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Doing the protein shakes is NOT

fasting. With the exception of our regular vitamins, they are nearly

nutritionally complete. IMNSVHO, any headaches incurred by doing protein

only, is withdrawal from carbs. That will give you a really quick

headache...sort of like kicking a substance. There's gonna be some side

effects for awhile. YMMV...my .02 cents worth...again... LOL!
